Our History
Founded in 2014 by a local jiu jitsu black belt, initially as a side project on a single campus, Samurai School
has now grown to serve over 1,000 youths at more than 20 different locations.
Our training revolves around fundamental grappling and boxing. Research
indicates this type of training combined with proper coaching and mentorship fosters self-control and confidence,
reduces aggression and establishes a sense of belonging to a group. In this regard, we tailor our classes to not only
develop grappling and boxing skill, but to spark a consideration for developing positive character traits.
The intentional use of after-school clubs gives students a place to go when
juvenile crime and victimization are reported to peak, where coaches can provide on-site
support and protective factors that keep students safe, out of trouble and focused.
By offering classes free and on campus, we bypass common economical and logistical barriers.
With classes designed for elementary, middle and high school levels, students can train every
year until graduation, creating long-term growth.
