Organization Overview
Samurai School uses jiu jitsu to empower youth on campuses across Austin through
after-school programming and summer camps. Our confidence-building grappling curriculum, pro-social
learning environments, bully-management subcomponents and long-term training help to improve the well-being
of each student, their families and the community.
Our training revolves around a core of fundamental grappling and boxing.
Research indicates this type of training yields therapeutic
benefits such as increased self-awareness, increased self-control, increased
confidence, a sense of belonging to a group, a propensity to develop positive character traits and reduced
aggression. Our goal is to make those benefits accessible and available to as many young people as we can.
What makes our program unique is the length of time students train. With curriculum specifically designed for
elementary, middle and high school levels, students can train every year until graduation, creating a foundation
for lifelong growth in jiu jitsu and character.
